A GIANT THANK YOU going out to the Friends of the Osterhout Free Library for raising over $27,000 at last weeks 44th Tent Book Sale! And a special THANK YOU to all of our amazing volunteers who helped set up, tear down and man the sale all week long – not to mention the over 3,000 shoppers who came out to show their support! We are so grateful for each and every one of you. It’s good to be back!

The Book Buddies are back!

Kids are encouraged to come dressed up as their favorite decade! We will travel to the past with books about time travel and history. Kids will also get to get crafty with a coloring sheet of their decade choice! Snacks and drinks will be offered.

Thanks to the support of our county government, anyone who resides in Luzerne County has access to a public library! Recent misleading information has given some residents at the western portion of the county the impression that they’re going to lose library services. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you live in Luzerne County, you are entitled to a library card. You can get your card at any location of the Luzerne County Library System or we can mail one to you if you fill out an online card application here. Not only will you have access to all the libraries in Luzerne County, you’ll also have access to the more than 500 state-aided libraries in Pennsylvania! With the Access PA program, you can register for a library card in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Scranton and in every corner of the state!
